To remedy the weak electricity grid and the blackouts, facilities resort to polluting and expensive diesel powered generators. As part of the EU - funded UNDP - CEDRO project, four sites (three industrial and one education) have been selected to feature an innovative technology: PV-hybrid diesel implementations. The hybrid plant consists of solar photovoltaics and fossil fuel operated generators as generators of electricity, electronic static conversion equipment, loads and distribution lines.
The present publication was compiled based on the detailed technical feasibility studies conducted for the four shortlisted facilities along with the other similar facilities.
This study: a guideline report, provides a detailed walk through of the implementation steps, starting with a general overview of the PV-hybrid technology and its components, to design, construction and operation and maintenance.
